The chapter explains the salient features of the merger control regime under Indian competition law, the recent trends and development of the law and policy in relation to merger control and some of the major combination cases handled by the Competition Commission of India (CCI). It also provides a brief overview of the measures taken by the CCI in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, recent market studies conducted by it and the proposed amendments to the merger control regime in India.
