Akshay Jeet Bhat

Akshay is part of the general corporate practice, specialises in private equity and venture capital investments.

He has advised on a number of foreign and domestic private equity investments, joint ventures, strategic investments and acquisitions, having represented investors/acquirers and the target companies, both listed and unlisted. He has also closely been involved in examining business models of e-commerce and marketplace companies to ensure compliance with sectoral laws and foreign investment regulations.

Professional Experience

He has represented several funds, such as Ascent Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, Blackstone, India Equity Partners, KKR and LeapFrog Investments, on their investments in and exits from Indian companies, involving advice on transaction structuring and Indian securities and foreign exchange management regulations.
Advised Indian business houses on various aspects such as capital raising and group reorganization, and represented start-ups on fund raising and acquisition transactions.
