Vishal is an India-qualified lawyer with over 10 years of experience, who specialises in contentious as well as non-contentious matters pertaining to the energy and infrastructure sector.

He has extensively represented clients in litigation mandates across the country, and also has significant experience in advising clients on M&A and other transactional advisory mandates pertaining to the sector.

He has also advised and represented clients on other corporate and commercial mandates, including on matters pertaining to insolvency, debt recovery and enforcement, and general contractual disputes.

Some of Vishal’s clients include, Actis, Blupine Energy, Adani Energy Solutions, Sembcorp, Avaada Eenrgy, Azure Power, Enel Renewables, Hindustan Power Exchange, and industry associations, such as Green Energy Association. Vishal has also represented various institutional clients such as IFC, Brookfield and PSPIB in the past.

Representing Blupine Energy, a renewable energy platform backed by Actis, in a real estate dispute affecting the project land of its 70 MW under construction project in Chhattisgarh.
Advising Avaada Energy in filing a petition before the UPERC seeking execution of banking agreements with UPPCL for supply of power to its captive consumers.
Representing Jaiprakash Power Ventures before the Supreme Court in a civil appeal filed by UPPCL arising out of a change in law petition filed by Jaiprakash Power Ventures seeking relief on account of change in design energy of its hydro project due to change in law events.
Representing Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited in a batch of tariff appeals before the APTEL involving several complex tariff related issues pertaining to its Mumbai distribution business.

Transactional Advisory:

Advising a major UK based private equity fund on all regulatory aspects of its proposed acquisition of two renewable energy platforms comprising solar assets located across the country aggregating over 1 GW of capacity.
Advising a major renewable energy platform on its acquisition of a 300 MW solar project located in Rajasthan.
