Sharan has advised and represented Indian and overseas clients in cases before various jurisdictions on an end to end basis including representation in variety of matters as an arguing counsel. He has also represented central government bodies and appeared on their behalf in land acquisition and constitutional matters. Sharan also represents clients in labour disputes, oppression and mismanagement disputes, matters under the SARFAESI Act, mergers and amalgamations, corporate commercial litigations and arbitrations.

With the advent of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (“Code”), Sharan has represented and advised and argued matters for private banks, public sector banks and other non-banking financial institutions for filings made under the Code in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

Commercial Arbitration

• Represented Sical Iron Ore Terminal (Mangalore) Limited in arbitration proceedings arising out of a concession agreement executed with New Mangalore Port Trust, a trust formed by the government in relation to building, operation and maintenance of an iron ore terminal and advised on key challenges being faced insofar as force majeure, change in law clauses under the concession agreement.
• Representing a leading software development company in their claims against the Government of Madhya Pradesh pertaining to delay in payment of invoices and further representing them on obtaining injunctions against invocation of bank guarantee.

Commercial Litigation and Insolvency

• Represented Axis Bank in the proceedings initiating corporate insolvency resolution process against Lotus Shopping Centres Private Limited and advising the bank on the parallel proceedings initiated by the borrower before the civil court, High Court and Debts Recovery Tribunal at Bangalore on non-compliance of RBI Circulars.
• Representing a leading software company in the proceedings initiated by a software engineer claiming to be a workman before the Labour Court in Bangalore.

White Collar Crime

• Representing and advising a leading Singapore based crypto currency platform on the actions initiated by the Enforcement Directorate under Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 and the next steps to be taken during such inquiries and investigations and advising on the actions that will ensue under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 on search and seizure, complaint being submitted before the Special Court, etc.
• Representing a leading online gaming platform on the inquiries conducted by the State Police Authorities in Karnataka and Telangana on the actions taken by them towards freezing of bank accounts and advising them on the next steps to be taken.

Mergers and Amalgamations

• Represented Google India Private Limited, the Amazon Group, Tata Group and ABB India Limited and Mantri Group amongst others, in their scheme of amalgamation/arrangement before the National Company Law Tribunal at Bangalore.
